Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric support to our adult and minor (ages 5 through 17) clients. This role is ideal for a clinician who values integrative, trauma-informed care and enjoys working alongside therapists and other wellness professionals in a supportive group practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and comprehensive mental health assessments
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders in accordance with DSM-5 and evidence-based guidelines
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other providers as part of the client’s care team
- Provide psychoeducation to clients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and medication management
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Attend team meetings and participate in case consultations as needed
- Offer services via telehealth and/or in-person depending on client needs and provider preference
- Maintain updated billing spreadsheet as provided by the administrative team to track productivity
Qualifications
- Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Active and unrestricted license to practice in the state of Florida
- Active DEA License
- Collaborative Agreement with a supervising physician
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (new graduates with strong references may be considered)
- Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of culturally informed care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms
Preferred Qualities
- Interest in holistic, integrative, or trauma-informed psychiatric care
- Familiarity with co-occurring disorders and collaborative treatment planning
- Bilingual (Spanish, Creole, or other languages) a plus
