Our last Serendipity Sister Circle gathering was bitter-sweet as we said goodbye to one of our Sisters. She had decided to begin a new chapter in the journey of her life, stepping out on her own to experience new adventures. We were sad to see her go as we would be losing an important member of our Circle, but happy that she was bold enough to challenge her dreams and hopes. We initiated a new tradition where each member of the Circle “closed out” by sharing memories of how we met, how she has contributed to our lives and our Circle and the well wishes that we have for her. Needless to say, lots of laughing and lots of tears…happy tears.
From time to time, people who mean a great deal to us transition on through relocation and breakups. How do you honor what they have meant to you? Do you sing, dance, reminisce? Do you cry, curse the fates, withdraw and isolate? How about doing your own close out. I bet it would mean a lot to the person leaving to know how much you think of them and how much they’ve touched your life.
